This wonderful beast was abandoned by its mother as a calf and this Minnesota farmer raised it to adulthood among his work horses. The moose is tame and has learned to pull lumber along with the working horses. This farmer says it actually pulls the logs better than the horse teams and seems to enjoy doing its job. The farmer mentioned that the moose takes off for a few weeks during mating season and comes back faithfully every year.
I never realized just how large these animals were until this picture of the farmer hitching the moose up to his next pulling job.

Martin: Yes. It only takes off during rutting season and then comes back to the home where he was raise. What a marvelous beast.

are made for this moose in Maine, too. Snopes says it's a fake. If someone can provide more photos and real proof---a video, maybe--I'd love to see it!
Anon: Thanks for the update. It will be interesting to see where this originated or if the photos have been doctored. Looking at the terrain, if it is true, it could have happened in either state.
look at the bright sun light and shadow in the rack. Picture was def. doctored. Look at the rest of the pic and the sky is cloudy
