Just a note to let you all know that I'll be off the blog for a few days.
I'm having cataract surgery tomorrow morning and will be back on the
blogs when I can see better.
Until then . . .
Butch
Come in and sit awhile. Have some tea or coffee and I may have a story to share with you.

Good luck with that. I'm told it's a fairly routine, in and out procedure. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Lacey: Many thanks. The surgery should be uneventful. The post-surgery eye adjustment takes a few days and should be stable in 2-4 weeks. I'll be back in a few days when the focus adjusts.
Hope everything goes well. See you soon!
Dad just had his done this winter and he's a new man! Mom never gets to drive anymore...and for the first time ever, he doesn't need glasses for anything!
Best of luck...recouperate well and come back when you can! We'll miss you!
New windows on Butch, too! Godspeed.
Tornwordo: Thanks, it should be one of those uneventful surgeries. We're due to go in a few hours and Steve will drive us back.(I guess they do not trust an one eyed Irishman on the road. ;-)
Greg: Many thanks. I'm looking forward to being able to see clearly again. It came upon me gradually over about four months and became most noticeable when driving at night. The glare from oncoming headlights is blinding. See you in a few days.
Joe: Ha! I never thought of it that way but you are correct. As it turns out my other eye ( thank goodness I'm not a spider ) is just starting a cataract as well so, by next year I will most likely be having it done. Unless the process speeds up a bit. My physician said that I was a wee bit "young" to have one and then when on to say he did cataract surgery on an eighteen year old! Thanks for the kind words.
Hope your recovery is going well and that you have some nice overcast days so you A) don't feel like your missing anything, and 2) can walk by those new windows without being blinded by the glare!
Greg: Many thanks. I think it went well, my eye is still stabilizing and is much better today. I will be blogging very soon if it keeps progressing like it is. I'm going to do a blog entry on the surgery with some pictures Steve took off of the monitor whilst the physician was doing the surgery. Very interesting. Thanks for inquiring.
