Butch, nice you’ve made a break from the break. Happy Independence Day, Germans are allowed to wish that too I guess, I hope it’s a pleasant day for you.
Martin: Thank you, Martin! You certainly are allowed to comment on anything you like. It will be sunny and in the 80s F. ( too hot for me ) We moved to the Northwest to get away from the heat and I think it followed us here. ;-)
We’ve had a whole week of sticky heat (one goes nuts), today fortunately was the first thunderstorm. Well, it’s summer, but I’m really not a fan of hot weather.
Martin: Ever since my "tour of duty" in Vietnam back in 1969, I have never been fond of hot weather. We pretty much live in air-conditioning during the summer months. Actually, we had an heat-pump installed a few years ago and we keep the temperature at about 68-69 degrees F. all year around. It's much better on my piano, harp and other musical instruments.( not to mention my sanity. ) ;-)
Enjoy your thunder storm, I used to love them when we lived back in the Mid-west. We seldom see or hear them here in the Northwest.
Jesus Christ you were in Vietnam, sorry. But I guess we agree in this point, hot weather is really a danger not only for instruments but for mental sanity too.
Yes, we do agree. Our piano appears as though we bought it yesterday and we've had it almost twenty-five years. It's a 7 foot Young Chang concert grand. This was one of two pianos Ray Charles tried out for a concert he played. He chose the other piano! Ha!
Greg: Many thanks and the same to you! It's been quite warm, but being the wuss that I am, I have been indoors in very comfortable weather. It's been actually quite beautiful, I can't complain.
Take care, and should be making my rounds visiting all my friends.
I'm a married gentleman of thirty-eight years in the Pacific North West state of Washington. My professions have been in medicine as a Naprapathic physician, music performance as a principal operatic tenor and teaching applied music voice at the university level and privately along with private instrumental instruction. Since retirement from medicine, I began composing and arranging music in the Celtic-American Folk genre and did performance in Irish Celtic Music and American Folk music of which I have recently retired due to my health. My interests are eclectic and I enjoy meeting people and making friends.
The musical group I was in when we were performing was Mooney Woods and Nogle and we made two CDs. The most recent released was in December of 2010.

Martin: It was long ago, and far away. . .

Belated Independence Day greetings to you, gentlemen! Hope it was a lovely weekend - wish I could bottle our breeze off the bay and send some to you!
