A Winter Storm

We awoke this morning to snow falling in our area of the Northwest. It has been intermittently snowing this morning and early afternoon. This picture is of one of the Hawthorne trees heavy laden with snow.

This picture is of the patio off the solarium.

This is another picture of the patio with about four or more inches of snow on the bench and grill. Our wee fir tree branches are loaded down with snow in this picture.

This is a picture of the front yard looking out the office window to the left. One can see the snow coming down in this picture.

This was taken looking out of the office window to the right. When Steve came back in he said the expressway was backed up for twelve miles coming into Olympia. Today, he took the 4-wheel drive small SUV instead of the car to drive around the city. It appears as though we will have more of the same for tomorrow, if the weatherman is correct.
To those of you living in the Mid-west or up in Canada where this weather is the norm for the winter months, one has to remember we usually have rainy days in the winter months and a snow storm is rare. In any event, it's a nice day to stay indoors by a wood fire reading a good book.
Stay warm.

Oh my. It's pretty, but looks so gray. It's like there is no color. Stay warm yourself, and enjoy the cozy aspects of this winter wonderland.

[Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful. There's really no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.]

Java: The grayness is actually it snowing. It's one of those days where it's best to stay indoors and by a nice woodstove fire.

Your song is perfect for the day!

Wonder Man: It's nice to look at when one doesn't have to leave the house for anything. It's even funny watching the dog scoop up snow in his mouth whilst he runs in the back yard.

We keep the house cool during the night and it definitely is one of those nights where we pile on the covers.

Oh, that's a preview for me, I think. Sounds like we have a few coastal storm systems gearing up to visit us at the start and the end of the weekend, both promising some snowy photo opportunities.

As you say, great when you are prepared enough to appreciate it by being able to stay shut in from it...(although if I'm well prepared, there's also the good chance I'll be more in the mood to go for a walk out in it...IF it's the right sort of snowfall...)

Whew! I have been trying to send all this snow somewhere else and by the looks of your pictures....its working! Oh um sorry about that but hey, look how pretty it will be for you at Christmas Butch! ;)

Greg: I hope by the time the storm systems reach your end of the states they have worn themselves out. This morning's weather is a little warmer and if this keeps up, all of this snow could be melted within a day or two. I need to check the fellow who holds the crystal-ball, the weatherman, and see what he predicts.

Sean loves the snow and it is a laugh seeing this big dog act like a puppy out in the snow.

Sooo-this-is-me: Ah ha! So you're the culprit whose been sending all the snow. ;-) I grew up with it in the Mid-west and I can say leaving our snow shovel behind when we moved west was a nice gesture. When it snows here, all one has to do is just wait a few days and it will be gone. ( I've already put some counter-spells on that snow you sent and it should be gone shortly. );-)

Wow...who knew the two of you were tossing around magic powers?!?! I'll have to be extra nice in future comments...

Greg: Well, those counter spell blew up in my face, It is snowing like crazy since the weatherman issued a storm warning for tonight. It has already started. I'd better brush up on my spells. I did manage to take Sooo-this-is-me's rainbow in his picture and turn it backwards but I'll save that for another time. ;-)

Happy Holiday!!!

Johnny368:"Winter wonderland...
:_)" Yes, it is and we are expecting another storm to visit us this weekend this time with 60 mph winds! ;-)

When I was a lad in Michigan, the state motto was:
"Water-winter-wonderland." I think it has changed from that.

Happy Holidays to you and yours as well!

Its no use Butch, I'm closer to Santa's work shop so I have the inside on the snow making! To prove my point, many of your states just were dumped on by a huge snow storm, as for us...less than one inch, ha! ;)
Just call me Steven, a lot easier than sooo-this-is-me!

Steven: You have a point. We are expecting another storm this weekend with an added thrill of 60 mph winds to make it more interesting.
( I still working on a counter-spell perhaps, changing that wind in your direction.) ;-)
