Yuletide Wreath

This is our Yuletide wreath placed over our hanging Mexican sun artwork peaking through it. As we wait for the solstice and the days becoming longer. This photo shows the sun waiting in anticipation of of longer days and shorter nights.
We are in the middle of our first real snow fall today that is not melting once it touches the ground. Our high temperature for today was 31 degrees F. I think the snow is going to continue throughout the evening and into the night. Tomorrow morning's look out the window will reveal if my prediction was correct or not. Winter has finally kissed and embraced the Northwest.

Stay safe in the snow, Butch! Love the sun peaking out from the wreath.

Is that real greenery? If so, it's gorgeous. If not...great articial find! :) Hope you're having a great holiday season.

Java: Thanks. It will be a bit slippery and the drivers will be making mistakes on the first real snow of the winter. This late afternoon it stopped snowing and hasn't started up yet so we'll see if we have more tomorrow morning.

( I thought the sun peaking out looked interesting when I first hung the wreath. )

Joie: It is real and smell nice in the solarium where it hangs. I'm doing well, thanks but can't keep up with the parties like I used to when younger. My Aunt just celebrated her 90th birthday and I gave her a call. She sounds so young and is as sharp as a tack. It was great talking with her again since it's been years since I have seen her. She lives in W.Va. and we're here in the Northwest.
( I like the new picture! ) ;-)

You can have it!

Tornwordo: ;-)

When we moved west from Chicago a number of years ago, one of the items I left there was a snow shovel. I haven't missed it since.

Love the wreath and the peeking sun...what perfect imagery for the time of year!

Wishing you safe travels in miserable weather and good humor throughout!

Greg: Thanks, it was moment's decision when I did it. We are looking at some more very cold weather ( for this region ) another 14 degree F night, this time with some snow added to the mix. We'll see. It is cold though you really went through some rather cold ice and snow stormy weather recently. Then, you experience some 50s and 60s. ;-) After tonight, we should be back into the 30 degree weather for a moment with rain. One has to say the weather is at least interesting here in the NW. Stay warm!!
