The first blooms in the yard.

I was out throwing grass seed around the front and back yards and noticed the buds on the Lilac bush in the first picture.

When I looked a little a bit farther, I noticed the Blue Bells were in bloom. They always arrive sooner than the other plants. Behind them the Mint is starting to arrive as well.

Here's a little different angle of the Blue Bells. My Daffodils are up and getting ready to bloom but, not quite ready yet, So, I'll take them when they have their best faces on.

Spring is on its way

Wonder Man: It has been a strange winter here in the NW. I don't believe we've seen snow fall as many times in the past as it has done this past season. I'm ready for the colours to start showing themselves. It's still too wet in the yards to do anything since it will create too much mud instead of raking the dirt around. I only sprinkled grass seed this time. There is a constant battle between the grass we plant during the spring and summer and the forces of the "Moss" that takes over in the other two seasons. I really should let the moss take over since it is more natural to the environment than the grass is. ( Certainly, wouldn't have to mow it. ;-)

Just a note, I couldn't get on your site the last time I was visiting, hopefully, it was only a daily glitch that occurs intermittently.

My bulbs have broken ground with their green shoots, and I am expecting gorgeous color by the weekend. I love Spring!

Tater: Sounds like Spring is on the way. It's raining today, intermittently this afternoon. Soon, I should have some more colour when the Daffodils bloom. Our neighborhood becomes full blown when the Rhodes kick in with their colours as well. ;-)

(I could swear I'd already commented here...I wonder if one can get pyschic Alzheimers...)

Glad to see your bulbs springing up, as ours are doing around here. Last night I could hear peeper's singing in the pond nearby(...and in case I didn't have enough signs of Spring in all that, I think I'm getting a sinus infection, which is the final proof of the season here in New England!)!

Greg: I know what you mean regarding Alzheimer's. I get my exercise by having to go into a room twice because I forgot why I was going there in the first place.

Sorry to hear of your sinus problems, 'tis Spring and that is when my allergies let me know we have arrived as well. Good old Nasinex spray. ;-) I should have some more pictures coming soon.
